Vehicle ShippingDuring your research, you might be asking yourself why should you use a auto transport broker instead of a car carrier? Well, due to the high volume of automobiles being transported every day, it is very difficult for consumers to locate a carrier on their own. Auto transport brokers know exactly where the auto carriers are and what routes they cover and what their schedules look like. An auto transport broker has access to thousands of car carriers nationwide, and will make sure they get you the best possible deal. They will also verify that the vehicle carrier has the proper authority and insurance prior to your vehicle being shipped. Moreover, the auto shipping broker maintains communication with the carrier during the transport of the vehicle, which allows You, the customer, to relax during the process. Read More

Auto ShippingHow much does it cost to ship my car? This is a very common question, and you will be surprised, shipping your car is more affordable than ever. The prices for shipping your vehicle can change based on many factors including, origin, destination, vehicle size, gas prices, shipping time frame, and available carriers for the area. With these factors in mind, brokers will search for a carrier that meets all your requirements. If you are looking for a discount on shipping your car, you can talk to the broker about bundling your vehicle with other vehicles in the area saving you money. However, this will often require that you be flexible on your pick up and delivery dates.  To find out exactly how much it will cost to ship your car, click here and request an auto transport quote.

Auto MovingSo I have requested a quote, done my research, and chosen a broker to ship my car. What's next?  Your selected broker will have paperwork that will need to be filled out and signed and depending on the brokers they will collect their fee for booking the deal on sign up or on dispatch.  Once this has all been taken care of a carrier will be assigned to pick up your load and you will be given a pick up date.  Then you will want to prepare your car for shipment (see check list below).

Before the driver arrives, make sure you
do the following:
  • Clean the exterior and interior of your vehicle.
  • Make sure you have a minimal amount of fuel in your tank; a quarter tank or less is sufficient.
  • If your vehicle is going to a cold climate, make sure you have winterized your vehicle by adding antifreeze.
  • Secure any loose items such as camper shells, truck bed liners, and cargo/ski racks.
  • All antennas including phone, radio, and CB that do not retract, MUST be removed or they may get broken.
  • Disconnect auto alarms, anti-theft systems, and radar detectors.
(To see a complete list please view our car shipping checklist)

When the driver arrives to pick up your vehicle he will perform a detailed inspection and note any vehicle damage, car dings, scratches, or defects of your vehicle on a Bill of Lading. Both the person releasing the vehicle and the driver will sign this Bill of Lading and one copy is left at the vehicle point of origin. The same Bill of Lading will be present on delivery so that the vehicle can be re-inspected before it is released.

Car TransportFinally, the driver has picked up my car, how long before it arrives at my delivery destination?  Most coast to coast shipments will take between 7 and 10 days. If your car is transported up and down each coast, it should be 3 to 5 days. Shorter routes can range between 1 and 3 days. Make sure to ask your auto transport broker for specifics on car shipping times.  Please note that all of these estimates are approximate and things like weather delays and equipment failures can add time to shipments.
